My Dad's book
For about ten years, my dad had been writing his memoirs—a manuscript that chronicled his journey from a humble childhood on a farm to the realization of his dreams: pursuing an education and building a family. He had the digital manuscript ready and asked me to help him print it. In his mind, he imagined simply printing copies at home to share with relatives and friends.
The first time I read his manuscript, I was overwhelmed with joy, even in its early draft. I knew it deserved more than just a basic printout—it deserved to be a real book. I decided to design a hardcover edition, complete with photography and illustrations, to honor his story the way it deserved.
In 2024, while visiting my family in Colombia, I finally brought this vision to life. Holding the printed book in our hands was an emotional and unforgettable moment. When my dad saw it, he was in disbelief—his tears said more than words ever could. It was a real book, just like those written by his favorite authors.
So far, we’ve printed 30 copies, each a unique edition signed by my father, now cherished by our friends and family.
